A spirit called Catherine came forward and told Rachel there had been 3 buildings on the site since her day, and she lived here in the very first building “in the time of our lady Elizabeth” –  Rachel asked if she meant Queen Elizabeth -and she said yes. Rachel then went on to establish she was referring to Elizabeth 1.

Soon after Rachel was given the name Elizabeth (a peer of Catherine) and heard female voices, as if in conversation. At this time we took a photo with a strange light anomaly behind one of the guests where Rachel stated Catherine was standing.

John thought he saw something go across the room towards Rachel and Rachel reported her hand went cold.

Rachel said she could see Catherine clearly and she looked poor, with rough clothing, long dress and dirty white undershirt. She said she has to give thanks to “our lady” for providing her with a home, and this is why she comes back in visitation as she has fond memory of her life there.

Footsteps were clearly heard by several people present right above Rachel and she felt they were some other ladies who lived there too at the same time as Catherine wanting to come in on the conversation and be included. This group of women were lovely, and so grateful for their homes donated by the Queen “from her own money they were built”, according to Catherine, but maintained by the townspeople afterwards. She told Rachel that the first buildings there were built for her and some other women.

One of the guests reported feeling very cold when Rachel asked for a sign of the presence of the other ladies – Lynsey checked the temperature using a digital laser thermometer, and the temp within a foot around this guest was 17c whereas the rest of the room was 23c.

Lynsey was sat closest to this guest, and soon felt icy cold at her back – the temp was 20c there, still cooler than the immediate surroundings at 23c.

Before Rachel could finish the question, “do you wish to communicate with us”, we heard a faint tap and saw an orb on one of our infra red monitors. Rachel asked again if they wanted to communicate and two taps were heard.

A second spirit named Sarah communicated, related to Catherine.

Some passers by were speaking loudly in a foreign language outside the salon, and Catherine reacted angrily to it, telling Rachel she “didn’t like “them” when she was alive, as foreigners came to the town and “took work” in her day.

Rachel felt that these women had happy lives as they were given food, shelter and their families were allowed to stay on in the houses after they passed away.

Rachel asked Catherine what the buildings were called. Catherine confirmed that the original buildings were called Christ Hospital – it took Rachel a while to interpret as she was shown images of Jesus on a cross and then a hospital.

Rachel pointed out that the use of the word hospital was different in those times, meaning a place of charity and that this was the case in the 1500s.

Several of the guests felt cold breezes. One felt uncomfortable and so Rachel asked the spirit to step back and take the effect away.

GROUND FLOOR SALON (RIGHT)

Rachel could smell witch hazel/iodine or natural astringent smells as in an old hospital. No activity at all in this room so we moved on after a few minutes.

STAIRCASE

As we approached the stairs we saw orbs immediately on the camcorder monitor. We walked up to sit on the second flight of stairs and sat quietly to see if anything happened. We heard tapping sounds, and Rachel felt there was a WW2 residual impression of American and English soldiers stationed here and scrambling to go somewhere at short notice and running down the stairs from the upper floors.

Rachel felt a male presence and connected the name John. Our locked off camcorder was on the landing two flights above us at this point. We clearly heard a loud tap from that direction after Rachel asked, “Is your name John?” and “Can you walk towards us”. Several of our guests heard a sound in response and felt a breeze go by them on the stairs.

Rachel felt further residual impressions of nurses affiliated to a church walking on the landing just above, and then briefly felt and heard the voice of a spirit of a ww1 soldier who still comes here because he was in love with a nurse and liked to visit the place he fell in love with her and re-live his memories.

Rachel stated staff must hear footsteps or feel people going past. Sam stated he often feels there is someone over his shoulder when he uses these stairs.

Rachel picked up on an authoritative figure named Harris who had wrong intent and made out he was all about charity but liked the power trip of being in charge.

At this point there was a small flashing orb on lock off cam across the doorway, and guests sitting on the stairs were feeling draughts go past them. The landing felt hot in one spot only – temp was 22 deg there and 20 deg less than 1 foot away. John felt a sweaty fluey feeling for a moment then it was gone, and Clive thought he saw figures go past down by the reception desk.

Sam & his girlfriend were sat at the very top of this flight of stairs next to the beauty rooms and kept hearing noises and pointing towards where they were coming from in the beauty rooms across the landing – a big orb went by on lock off cam – through the beauty room doors. (See video clip)

So, we relocated to those rooms and a big orb was seen on the locked off cam between Clive and John and a small orb was seen in the toilet doorway on Johns cam.

Clive stayed outside on the landing to monitor any activity on the stairs and reported a big clonk noise on the stairs – this was also caught on lock off cam.

Rachel came out to investigate the noise and leaned over landing banisters to investigate – and a big orb went across her back on locked off cam.

Suddenly people panicked and screamed in the beauty room 1 – Sam had tripped over what felt like a foot – but no-one or no obstruction was there in his path. We put the light on to make sure he couldn’t have tripped on something or a ridge in the carpet – but nothing was there.

Another big orb was caught on camcorder just after that, and a fast moving faint orb flew up from the stairwell.

A child pushed Rachel gently in the corridor outside the beauty room as she was walking back in. She asked him to speak into the Dictaphone she was carrying and asked his name and age. There were several doors off a corridor on the way back in and as John walked past a door on his way in, the door handle clicked loudly as if the door was being closed suddenly. Tried the handle – it didn’t move at all as the door was already locked! This sound was caught loudly on the cam and Dictaphone.

While in the beauty treatment room, Rachel picked up on the spirit of a Mr Harris and the residual energy of kind nurses and received impressions of how the ward looked, big and open as it was back in the day. Guests standing just outside the room reported some bangs and footsteps above at this point.

Rachel laughed and asked for confirmation of what she felt and saw next, and  said she felt there was a connection with Florence Nightingale coming in as a visitor or possibly even a patient for treatment, almost like a day patient. She would have been quite elderly at that time. As Rachel talked about her, her hands felt burning hot, and the laser thermo confirmed a reading of 39 deg. although the room was 23 deg. and Rachel’s body temp was 35 deg. (Rachel is also a healer and she advised that very hot hands are usually an indication of healing energy, which made sense to her as Florence was also a healer.)

Rachel’s guides showed her that Florence Nightingale lived in the area of Buckingham at that point and may have had connections to local charity at that time in her life.

Clive felt something on the 4^th stair on the top flight that made him feel disoriented.

_Break_

When everyone came back upstairs after break, and went past the locked off cam, 2 small orbs followed (see video clip).

Several more orbs were noted in the following minutes.

A particularly large one went across the cam from through a partition wall and a high moaning sound was heard over my voice in the distance at the same time.

A few minutes later another went up stairs past locked off cam again.

TOP FLOOR OFFICE:

Rachel felt that the building constructed after the poor houses were gone was one building but not as tall as it is now, of timber framed and plaster construction. and it was completely or partially destroyed by fire in the mid 1720s. She felt that the fire affected many buildings in the town and was a disaster.

At this point an orb was witnessed behind Rachel. We asked out for a sign from the spirit of their presence and he showed Rachel that he died from smoke inhalation and was forgotten.

The team and guests then descended the staircase from top floor and on our locked off cam, a few orbs follow John and Rachel.

Rachel pauses on the top flight as she says she feels someone fell down the top flight in 1899 and injured their back badly but didn’t have any names or further info, just felt the residual pain and saw the fall in her minds eye… the camera blurred shortly after and several small bright orbs were clearly seen on the locked off cam during the blurring.

Lynsey reacts to a noise we all heard coming from the beauty rooms, then 3 bright flashes were seen on lock off cam by the banisters. The cam went foggy just before the flashes happened. Some small orbs on John’s cam were seen at the same time.

Rachel asks if anyone else wishes to communicate and an orb floats by as if to come downstairs to Rachel. She asks for a sign and another bright orb goes across the locked off cam.

Another orb on locked off cam goes through a partition wall just as the downstairs door can be heard closing, and there were more taps and bangs heard on locked off cam after we all went back downstairs.

Two more small orbs went across locked off cam around 3 minutes after we left the staircase and returned to the ground floor.

Back in the first salon we began the night in, John reported an orb on his cam. Rachel stated that footsteps are heard down here from above, which was confirmed by guests. Soon after footsteps were heard in the hallway again, and Rachel felt it was a nurse.

We ended our investigation as the activity ceased 20 minutes later. What a night!
